Winter Getaways

Winter has arrived in Tennessee! Though we’re most famous for our summer and fall weather, the winter months here are gorgeous and exciting in their own right.

With the holidays behind us once again, it’s the perfect moment to take time out for yourself. When you're ready to escape, one of the following local winter getaways (in and around TN) is sure to provide you with the rest, relaxation, and mental reset you crave.

The Guest House at Graceland
600 Elvis Presley Blvd. | Memphis

The Guest House at Graceland is situated just a stone’s throw from Elvis’s Graceland. Experience a winter getaway suited for The King himself in one of these luxurious suites. While staying true to the Elvis theme, each room is kept modern with amenities like 50-inch televisions, Keurig coffee makers, and spa-inspired bathrooms. Two restaurants are located on-site, and more delicious meals are available at restaurants right nearby. Visit the theater to take in a movie or see a live music act! Winter is never drab at Graceland.

Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Resort
1339 Ski Mountain Rd. | Gatlinburg

Beginning in December, Ober Gatlinburg opens its winter snow activities. Ski, snowboard, ice skate, or snow tube! Snow tubing is open no matter the weather, while other resort snow activities are based on the weather. Hop on the Aerial Tramway downtown to avoid driving through the mountain snow.

If you’d rather stay warm in the mountains, Ober Gatlinburg has you covered as well! Wander through the Wildlife Encounter, browse shops, visit fine dining destinations, play in the arcade, bounce around in the icy bumper car experience, go ice skating, or whirl on the carousel. Whatever your winter dreams, Ober Gatlinburg wants to make them come true.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Gatlinburg

If a ski resort isn’t your speed, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park just may be. You can still ski and snowboard if that’s your jam, but you can also kayak and hike past cascading waterfalls – it’s just as perfect in the winter as it is throughout the rest of the year. Hike to the highest peaks to experience breathtaking views of the valleys and mountains that extend as far as you can see.

Blythewood Inn Bed & Breakfast
109 Blythewood Dr. | Columbia

Experience the rich history of Tennessee in the luxurious Blythewood Inn Bed & Breakfast. Eight distinct suites are available, each with its own historic treasures. Enjoy your breakfast near the 1900s-era Zuber mural in the dining room, then return for coffee in the evening.

Between mealtimes, wander through Columbia. Rest, rejuvenate, and revel in the beauty of winter.

The Hopestead Bed & Breakfast
378 Duck Branch Rd. | Fayetteville

Located near the Jack Daniel Distillery and Tim Fords Lake, the Hopestead Bed & Breakfast feels like an escape into a world of its own. This 1840s-era farmhouse has only two suites, and your stay includes a homemade breakfast, home-baked treats in the evening, games for guests, and multiple locations to lounge and stay warm.

Margaritaville Hotel
425 Rep. John Lewis Way S | Nashville

Do you long for the warmth of summer, no matter the season? Then say goodbye to chilly winter days and leap into the island life at the Margaritaville Hotel! There’s no need to leave Nashville—this hotel will transport you to a relaxing coastal paradise. Best of all, your stay will be complete with delicious in-house meal options, the hotel’s own Fins Bar, and a convenient location right next door to all your Lower Broadway favorites.

TGL Farms
2455 Long Hollow Pike | Hendersonville

TGL Farms is undoubtedly one of the most magical destinations in Middle Tennessee. This stunning spot is nestled amidst rolling acres of grasslands and the gorgeous countryside view expands in every direction—but it may just be the breathtaking Friesian horses that steal the show.

Luxuriate in the outdoor hot tub, relax through the afternoon on your private porch swing, then unwind at night in front of your indoor fireplace. The next day, take a stroll or bike ride through the property to meet the farm dogs, adorable chickens, and Nigerian dwarf goats who call TGL Farms home.

Cumberland Mountain State Park
24 Office Dr | Crossville

Cumberland Mountain State Park is situated next to Byrd Lake, making it ideal for fishing. Trout are stocked during the winter, hiking is as picturesque now as it is in October, and birdwatching is equal parts rewarding and relaxing.

Cumberland Mountain State Park’s expansive hospitality capability means this park isn’t merely a day-trip destination. Several cabin varieties are available to rent, with 37 properties in total on offer. Cabins range in size from 4-person to 10-person capacity, making this a great spot for a family reunion, birthday celebration, or holiday getaway.
