Congratulations on the purchase of your home here in beautiful Middle Tennessee! You’re undoubtedly excited about all of the fun parts of moving to a new house. Decorating a new home and clearing out items that were contributing to clutter can be so refreshing. Moving to a new neighborhood can also open opportunities to meet new friends and explore a different area of our incredible state.

Despite the excitement of securing your new home and all of the positives that come with it, you most likely aren’t looking forward to the move itself. In fact, according to recent research, Americans say that moving is the single most stressful life event they’ve ever experienced. Moving outranked divorce, breakups, getting married, having a child, changing careers, walking into the first day of a new job, starting college, sending a child to college, and dating someone new.

While we can’t be there to help you as you sort through your belongings, pack them up, hire movers (or haul boxes to your new home yourself), and then spend weeks unpacking, we can help to make one aspect of your move easier with our change of address checklist. This task has a tendency to be overlooked or put off; it can feel like minutia that isn't as important as some of your other moving tasks. However, the last thing you need while moving is additional stress resulting from lost packages, missed communication, late fees on unpaid bills, loss of services, or worst of all, identity theft.
